Copritelo con l’edera! (=Cover it with Ivy!) The installation on show at Spazio Punch from the 4th to th 6th of March 2016 is an extension of the investigation conceived by Stefano Tornieri, Luca Iuorio, Massimo Triches on the Hotel’s Santa Chiara case initiated on social networks in August 2015, which broke out after the presentation of the new building located close to Piazzale Roma. The title “ Copritelo con l’edera!” (=Cover it with ivy!) is an appropriation of a sentence appeared on the newspapers, which exemplifying the feeling that the building, designed and realized to enlarge the hotel, has generated in the community and on the web. Simplifying, it is possible to identify two factions: on the one hand those who firmly refuse this new architecture because poor in forms, materials and discontinuous with the contest, on the other hand those who consider it an inevitable, and maybe even necessary, arrival of contemporary architecture. The facebook page Atlante dei possibili Santa Chiara (=Atlas of the possible Santa Chiara) took shape from Stefano Tornieri’s idea to suggest a third possible way to perceive this new building, through an ironic re-elaboration exercise: creating one, ten, infinite Santa Chiara through photomontage. The installation designed for Spazio Punch is a tile that enriches the investigation and expands the discourse; focus is the relationship between architecture and its perception and communication. The installation includes photomontages produced by the facebook followers and an archive and documentation section on the Hotel Santa Chiara. Friday 4th of March, on the occasion of the opening, there will be a conversation with Daniele Capra, Matteo D’Ambros and Mario Lupano, invited to confront on the topic. The meeting is the occasion to present the book Linfonodi [zero] critectures on reception (Libreria Cluva Editrice, 2016) by Stefano Tornieri, Luca Iuorio with interventions by Massimo Triches on the modalities and consequences of communicating architecture.
