In conjunction with the 55. Venice Biennale, the exhibition aims to investigate the ideas and thoughts that have been handed down - across generations, time and geography - by Roberto Sebastian Matta to his sons Gordon Matta-Clark and Pablo Matta Echaurren.
The exhibition, curated by Danilo Eccher, stems from the work of Roberto Sebastian Matta and through the works of its protagonists along a half-century art history, lived in three different countries: France, the United States and Italy. The resulting split is not bound by their family history, no matter how exceptional, but expanded its borders to the cultural and political environment in which these artists were deeply involved.
