The Campiello Prize in its history has proved the validity of his cultural choices pointing to the attention of the general public a number of authors and novels that have marked the history of Italian literature. The Campiello, has seen the success of the films in competition is confirmed by sales but also from the film adaptation of some of them. Today the Prize, considered one of the most prestigious in Italy and among the most important Italian publishing, is a channel by which the Industrial Venetians wish to offer their contribution to the promotion of Italian fiction and encouraging and promoting the enjoyment of reading in the knowledge that a prize has its greatest reason the purpuse of 'create new readers'.
The meeting for the selection of five finalists has defined the five novels that will compete for the final assignment of the Campiello Prize in Literature. The five works selected are awarded the title of Campiello Awards - Jury selection for Writers. After the proclamation and before the final evening, Campiello Prize, with the cooperation of town guests, promotes and organizes meetings with the authors in major Italian tourist destinations.
In Venice, the initiative is hosted by the Institute of Sciences, Humanities and Arts.
