Conductor, Romolo Gessi
Romolo Gessi: After receiving his diploma as violin soloist at Conservatorio 'G. Tartini' in Trieste, he studied orchestral condacting under Maestro M. G. Kukuskin, I. Musin, D. Renzetti and J. Kalmar, specializing abroad in Saint Petersburg, Milan, Pescara and Vienna. Having acting as its music director, he is now guest conductor with 'Cantelli' Orchestra as well as with Orchestra Regionale 'Filarmonica Veneta' and 'Pro Musica Salzburg'; he is music director of Friuli Venezia Giulia's Chamber Orchestra and artistic director of 'Serate Musicali a Villa Codelli'. He had distinguished himself in numerous contests and had won the first prize at the International Austro-Hungarian Competition in Vienna and Pécs, winning also the second prize at the National Competition on opera conducting in Reggia di Caserta.
At the Municipal Theatre 'Luigi Russelo' in Portogruaro, conductor Romolo Gessi will direct the Symphonic Orchestra of Conservatorio 'G. Tartini' in Trieste.
